Evelyn Irene Hodgen, 82, of Lafayette, died at 5:38 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Darlington. Her marriage was to James “Jimmie” L. Hodgen, and he survives. Mrs. Hodgen worked at Dunkin Electric for 16 years. She was a member of Clarks Hill Christian Church. Surviving with her husband are two sons, Raymond Mahoy (wife: Carolyn) of Lebanon and Damon Mahoy of Clarks Hill; a daughter Jo Ellen Crum of Lafayette; three stepsons, Jimmie Lynn Hodgen of Lafayette, Rodney Hodgen of Clarks Hill and Frank L. Hodgen of Frankfort; two stepdaughters, Wanda Mae Peterson and Rebecca Jo Hodgen, both of Lafayette; and a brother, Donald Perkins (wife: Nancy) of Clarks Hill. Hodgen, Evelyn I. Friends will be received 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel, Stockwell. Services there 10:30 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Aryn Meritt officiating. Interment Union Cemetery. Surviving are 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Contributions may be made to the Clarks Hill Christian Church.
